As many of you know the Holy Spirit gave me a picture last Thursday night of people laying on a stretcher. I thought it meant that sick people were coming to the healing rooms, but in reality it was a picture of each of us laying on a stretcher not because we were sick but because Jesus wanted to minister to us his rest and peace. The image made a big impression on me. With that thought in mind I urge you to do resting in Jesus this month.
That doesn't mean you can't minister it just means we need to minister and war from under His wing, resting while we do it.
Jesus said in Matthew 11:28: " Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."
Well, What does rest really mean? Dr. Siang Yang Tan defines Godly rest as:
quietness of heart, an ability to let go, an ability to enjoy leaisure and nature, doing things that don't involve performance and periods of reflection.
It was interesting that Tan included in his definition the ability to wait patiently. I could work on that one all month long!
Pray today that the Holy Spirit will:
Give you his rest
Give you patience while you are waiting in lines or waiting for people
What do you need to let go of today?
Sit quietly and ask the Holy Spirit to quiet your heart.
